Add favicon and instruction to add to home screen of phone

As this is not a native app, having it on the phone home screen would be very useful. I did that to most of my web app. The people I know do that too. Allow user to upload their logo as favicon would definitely increase the usability and value of the product. Also best there is animation to guider user to save their as home screen app

Hey tony, I know very little about this. How would one add a web-app to their phone home screen and how do they upload their own favicon to it?

I think @tonyyap means something like this. Found on the bottom of this page https://slothworkouts.mvt.so (Only works on mobile)

P.S. Pay no attention to the contents of the app, just a random dummy app

I think the official name is PWA (Progressive web app)

Yes, it’s called progressive web app. Some might not want to make a native app but use web app as mobile app saved as app on home page. But it needs guidance to help user to save it. It still runs on safari but it has more “native-like” appeal and easier for user to use. It has its own advantages, no memory use, stay on cloud, instantaneous updates etc. it will have its own favicon to upload logo to make it more appealing to user.

Fully agree. Would like to see this! If you want to take it a step further, its possible to do notifications through that.
