In Pickaxe there’s a couple places you can show upgrade buttons to the user.
First is in your access settings, under the upgrade message here:
When guests come to your studio, they start using the free credits, then when they run out it gives them the above message and you can link this button many different places (internal and external)
However, there’s another upgrade button that is uneditable (currently). This feature request is to make the upgrade button shown below line up with the Custom URL that’s set in the above settings. Currently it defaults to the pricing page.
Users may land on this when they click a pickaxe they don’t have access to like this:
And then the button in question pops up:
Why this is important:
As a complex business with many different systems and things going on, having one source of truth is HUGE. For our customer support team, for our marketing team, etc.
We’d like to funnel all sales through one place (an external source), so when there’s a customer issue, customer support isn’t having to check two different stripe accounts. At scale this can be massively time consuming.
Also for marketing, for us to truly know our ROAS, having it all in one place is ideal.
And currently, I can produce higher conversions off pickaxe on an external funnel, rather than on pickaxe on the pricing page that’s not editable. So that’s why we’re directing traffic off of Pickaxe to a proper sales page.
Having the sale happen in two different potential places also adds a lot of complexity to the automations and triggers we have set up. We essentially have to have double the amount of automations and triggers, just to catch all the combinations of things that a user can do.
They might buy a product externally, then buy another product internally. Or buy a product internally, then buy and upsell off an email we send externally.
You can see how this creates a mess… quickly!
It feels like a simple ask, but I’m no developer so I hate to assume:
I think the simplest fix is to… link the URL destination in the upgrade message settings to ALL upgrade buttons site wide.
