Handling Image Uploads via Pickaxe API Deployment

Hey everyone,

I’ve been exploring the API deployment options for Pickaxe and wanted to check if anyone has experience handling image uploads via the API. Specifically, I’m wondering if there’s a way to pass images to Pickaxe in a similar manner to clicking the paperclip in the UI.

A few key questions:

  • Can images be accessed via the API?
  • If so, what format or method is required?
  • Are there any specific endpoints or parameters that need to be included?

I understand this is a new feature that’s currently rolling out, so documentation may still be evolving. If anyone has insights or early experience with this functionality, I’d really appreciate the help!

Thanks in advance!

@adampm looking at the documentation it seems this is not possible yet unless it is an Easter egg @nathanielmhld

@ab2308 Yeah, it seems that this is not currently an option but hopefully it will come very soon :crossed_fingers:.

Having an API that we can leverage from allows us to expand the use of our Pickaxe to incorporate custom designs / branding far beyond the current scope.
This would allow us access to use in a native app or to add work arounds to current design limitations.

This enhancement would be a game-changer for our work. Interestingly, after looking into alternatives for the past few weeks, we’ve found that there’s a surprising gap in the market for a tool that seamlessly combines both chat and image processing without the complexity of implementing multiple models and frameworks like LangChain.

We’re really hoping this becomes an option in the near future.
