OpenAI launches GPT-4.1 in the API on 14/4/2025
It’s 26% cheaper than 4o, has similar latency, and does not charge higher for long context usage via the API!
I hope this one is better than GPT-4.5

I think any OpenAi model besides Gpt 4 is better than 4.5. It’s supposed to be good at writing copy but 4o clearly outshined its outputs every time. OpenAi knows this and they announced they’ll be deprecating it very soon.
4.1 is designed with developers in mind, we won’t be seeing it on ChatGPT Plus/Pro subscriptions anytime soon, but we can test it out in the playground to see how it works for daily tasks!
