Hey folks,
I’m excited to share a new project I’ve been working on with the guys at Pickaxe for a little while: www.democracy.studio
The best part is we’ve created a chance to get paid to create Pickaxes to help make government suck less — I mean — an opportunity to enhance and improve civic functions for government and non government organizations through generative AI.
With Elon Musk heading up a new government department alongside a new US AI Czar, and Sam Altman an official member of the transition team for the new mayor of San Francisco — It’s clear that AI is going to be a big part of big government in the years to come.
But what about Anytown, USA with a tight city budget and no money on the payroll to bring in a prompt engineer? That’s where Democracy.Studio comes in.
The Democracy Studio will be a growing set of clonable Pickaxes that any government or service-based organization will be able to customize for their needs and deploying Pickaxe and saving our tax dollars in the process.
To help make this endeavor a success, I’ll be reaching out to as many organizations as possible to help sponsor Pickaxes for inclusion in the Democracy Studio. The way that it will work is that each organization will have the opportunity to underwrite any Pickaxes they want to see included in the Studio at a cost of $100 per Pickaxe which will go directly to the Pickaxe creator.
While open source, each Pickaxe will be licensed under Creative Commons to ensure that both the original creator and sponsoring organization will be credited for their contribution.
To get the ball rolling Pickaxe has agreed to sponsor the five Pickaxes they like best for the project, but they’ve decided to play a little game when it comes to the $100 payments.
Any tools selected by Pickaxe will have the choice to be paid in DOGE or WorldCoin (but don’t worry, if you don’t want to HODL you can instantly convert your payment to traditional currency).
In the meantime, check out our landing page at www.democracy.studio and help me to kick off the conversation in this thread.
If you create a winning tool, would you choose to get paid in Elon Musk’s favored DOGE coin? Or would your rather have $100 in Sam Altman’s WorldCoin, his initiative towards global universal basic income? Or do you just want the cold hard cash?
