Conversation Logging on Iframe Embeds

Hi all,

I’m experiencing an issue with my iframe-embedded bots where conversations are no longer being captured in the response history logs, despite having the “Collect User History” setting turned on.

Issue Details:

  • Conversations from iframe-embedded bots are not appearing in response history logs

  • “Collect User History” setting is enabled

Has anyone else encountered this issue with iframe-embedded bots? I’m trying to understand:

  1. Why chat logs for iframe-embedded bots might have stopped updating

  2. If there are any specific requirements for iframe implementations to properly log conversations

  3. What steps I can take to restore log collection for these iframe-embedded bots

If you’ve faced similar issues or have suggestions for troubleshooting, I’d greatly appreciate your insights.

Thanks

-Ryan

Hi @PROVIDER_TS5IV8K5K0,

We’ve disabled history on iframe embeds, though it’s still enabled elsewhere.

Hi. Is this something that will change? Having this information was invaluable for my clients and they aren’t happy it’s no longer available.

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to jump in here because I also noticed the missing chat logs and wanted to share my thoughts.

Honestly, having access to past conversations is really important for how I work with my bots. Sometimes I need to go back and review how a prompt was answered, or refine things based on earlier replies. Without chat history, I feel like I’m flying blind — especially when I’m embedding bots in external platforms where the session resets every time.

I understand the privacy concerns and the technical limitations with embedded environments, but from a usability standpoint, this is a pretty significant drawback. It would be incredibly helpful if there were at least an optional way to log conversations (with consent), or a way for developers to access session-based logs temporarily.

Is this something the team might reconsider or offer more flexibility around in the future?

Thanks for all your hard work — love the platform otherwise!

Hi,

I agree that the iframe logs are important to help us improve the chatbot’s responses. Currently, I do not know if the users are getting the correct information to their queries.

Also, without visibility of chatbot usage and effectiveness, it is hard for me to justify to management to continue subscribing to this function.

100% agree. I cannot effectively debug embedded pickaxes without the logs. Clients are complaining about the lack of the logs.
