Do Pickaxes need to be in a Studio? (Questions after migrating)

Hi,

I have completed the migration to the new version of Pickaxe, and I have a few comments and possibly a bug to report:

  • Is it mandatory now for each pick to be associated with a Studio? Every time I try to create a new pickaxe, it now asks me to associate it with a studio. I would prefer if the option to keep it unassigned remained available.
  • After the migration, a new Studio called “Other Tools” was created by default, where the picks that weren’t previously assigned to any studio were automatically connected. This is taking up a Studio slot that I would prefer to keep available.
  • BUG: After noticing the new “Other Tools” studio, I proceeded to delete it, which caused the pickaxes to disappear from the dashboard. (The pickaxes still exist, but they no longer appear on the dashboard). For example, the “CopyAI for Social Media” pickaxe, which I have embedded in a webpage, no longer shows up.

Thanks, and let’s keep improving!

Same issue I brought up. Unfortunately, all Pickaxe now will be a part of a studio which brings down your studio limits unlike in Pickaxe V1

Any comments about this bug?

Thank you, at least Im not the only one with this issue

Yes, the pickaxes need to be assigned to a Studio - was supposed to be called workspaces.

I was going to say just add it to a Other Tools workspace if you had one - after reading again, you deleted it.

Not sure what happens now as you deleted the Workspace they were housed in.

Yes it is mandatory that every Pickaxe must live within a Studio. This shouldn’t hinder any existing workflows. Studios are now workspaces that have an optional user-facing website. Not every Studio has to have a user-facing website. And within a studio you can select whether a Pickaxe is in the website or only accessible via a direct link.

Since every tool must be in a Studio, during the migration process we put all studio-less tools into an automatically created Studio called “other tools”. It’s just a miscellaneous folder basically. You can move these tools to other studios and then delete that Studio.

If you delete a Studio, you delete the tools within it. So delete entire Studios with caution.

I understand the function, but at the very least, they should have issued a warning that deleting the studio would also “delete” all the included picks! However, I believe they are “recoverable” since I still have some active, and they continue to appear embedded on web pages, for example: https://www.kundenly.com/copysmart-generador-de-copys-para-redes-sociales

So what’s left? Working in uncertainty about what will happen in future updates? Thanks.

We won’t be doing another massive redesign overhaul any time soon. This Studio-centric system will remain the paradigm. Hopefully there’s not uncertainty there. Going forward we’ll gradually add more and more functionality to this system, which is better set up for new features than the old system.

And why are you limiting 50 documents per studio when the deal was that the limitations only applies per pickaxe.
