End-users of your Studio should receive an email upon successfully signing up for a studio, yes. It will usually ask them to verify their email.
API keys work for a tool by tool basis. We will be changing this shortly when we roll out our redesign (which will enable collaborative workspaces). This means if you put an API key into a tool it will use your API key. If you don’t, it will use credits. There is not a rollover system for individual tools.
You can connect the ‘email summary to owner’ action. This will send an email to the owner of the tool at a predetermined point in the conversation.

Updating your Knowledge Base really depends on your preferences. I edit and re-upload a master document of several hundred FAQs every week or so to power our doorman. It’s a little work but the results are fantastic.
I think any QR code generator will work for this purpose. In the early days of Pickaxe, I use to make funny chatbots and put QR stickers out around public places with funny screenshots of the conversations in order to get traffic. It actually worked! Got maybe a hundred scans total.
