Is there a way to edit this placeholder icon for the homepage in the sidebar menu?

@daniellesutton when you are in the studio editor, you see the three dots next to each page. Click on the dots, then edit page. On the top right you can then click on the icon and change it.
Amazing, thank you so much! It was not intuitive to click on the icon to update, because the other pages have a different place for uploading the icon.
