I am facing issues with site Performance and Loading Times

Hello guys!

I have some performance issues in my project and I also have been experiencing with the Pickaxe Project website.

I have noticed a significant slowdown in page loading times. This is happening across different browsers and devices, suggesting a potential server-side problem. Additionally pages with rich content like project details and documentation, are taking an exceptionally long time to load.

I have already tried clearing my browser cache and cookies, as well as testing the site on different devices and browsers. My internet connection is stable and other websites are loading normally.

I also check this: https://community.pickaxeproject.com/t/output-formatting-issueservicenow But I have not found any solution for my query. Could anyone guide me about this? and I am reaching out to the community for assistance. Could someone from the Pickaxe Project team investigate these performance issues? Any help will be grateful for me.

Thanks in advance!

We are working on making the entire site more performative. The userbase has tripled in the last month, so we’re scaling to keep up.

What issue exactly are you dealing with in regards to output formatting? Non-indented bullet points?

I am also facing performance issues with the pickaxe being super slow to respond this last few days. Wondered when this will pick up please? I’m hoping to heavily market my pickaxe in the coming weeks.

We just significantly upgraded our database to run faster. Site performance should be resolved over the next day or two.

Hi,

The site speed/load time issue still persists which has made our potential users bounce without taking action.

I am also facing similar issues.

Ditto. Waiting up to 15 seconds for a response from assistants has been a constant complaint from anyone testing our creations. It really does make pickaxes very hard to use/sell.

I think more than the time, pickaxe doesnt give a sense of momentum like perplexity or gpt o1 give. At times i have seen perplexity take 8 secs but the entire interface moves to create anticipation in the user. I dont think the team can do much about api calling. It will take its time. But where the experience can improve is that instead of a loading circle we can have something which provides a sense of momentum. It would make a lot of difference to the user experience.

That is a wonderful idea! We have installed pretty good generation time monitoring recently too so we’re taking a look at these things with an eye towards improving them in any way we can.

Yes! To provide a little more context, we are working to speed up generation across the platform. Right now average generation latency across the platform hovers around 3 seconds. We’ll keep you updated as we improve this metric!

Still seeing 15 second response times. Starting to give up hope.

in addition to the monitoring that you guys are doing, please consider changing the three dots dancing loader to something like the one used by Perplexity or Merlin (the flashing paragraph). It does have huge impact on perceptive waiting time. The 3 dancing dots is giving me impression that it’s waiting forever to load as it is dancing so slow but flashing paragraph gives the feeling of writing long paragraph and it wont feel so long to wait. It would have huge impact on perception

@nathaniel this would be a good project for one of the test hires to do!
