Got my first paid subscriber at 29.00 a month. I have a live talk at a recruiting conference and did a quick demo of my studio at RecruiterBits.com .

I used chat gpt to analyze my studio usage and pricing by upload two screenshots from my studio and prompted:

“The first screenshot is the current pricing to my site that hosts custom GPTs that I have built for recruiters. ##The second screenshot is of the user activity dashboard so you can see the activity. Help me come up with a pricing model that will create paying customers.”

Results:

Great! Since you can control which “pickaxes” (custom GPTs) are accessible based on the user’s plan, this opens up even more flexibility for structuring your pricing model. Here’s how you can refine the tiers to better utilize this capability:

Refined Pricing Model Based on Tool Access

1. Free Plan (Freemium)

• Price: Free

• Usage: 5 uses per month.

• Tool Access: Basic pickaxes only.

• Example: Resume Scan Pro or Job Search Criteria Generator.

• Goal: Showcase the value of your tools to entice upgrades while keeping the free tier useful but limited.

2. Basic Plan (Starter Recruiters)

• Price: $15/month

• Usage: 50 uses per month.

• Tool Access: Access to basic tools + one premium pickaxe.

• Example premium pickaxe: Candidate Interview Summary or Job Fit Scorecard Bot.

• Audience: Ideal for independent recruiters or those exploring advanced AI tools.

3. Professional Plan (Power Users)

• Price: $30/month

• Usage: 200 uses per month.

• Tool Access: Access to all tools (basic + premium pickaxes).

• Example premium pickaxes: Glassdoor Company Auditor and Engaging Candidate Question Generator.

• Bonus Features:

• Early access to new pickaxes.

• Priority customer support.

4. Agency/Enterprise Plan (Collaborative Teams)

• Price: $50/month (for 1 user) + $25/additional user.

• Usage: Unlimited uses.

• Tool Access: Full access to all pickaxes.

• Exclusive Features:

• Team sharing: Multiple logins or user accounts.

• Collaboration: Share search criteria, resumes, or candidate insights with team members.

• Customization: Create tailored pickaxes for specific organizational needs.

Upgrade Flow and Incentives

  1. Tool Lock Icon on Free Tier:

• Clearly mark locked pickaxes with a “Pro” or “Premium” label. When users try to access these, show a tooltip:

“Unlock this tool with the Professional Plan for just $30/month!”

  1. “Try Before You Buy” Option:

• Allow free or basic users a one-time trial of premium pickaxes.

• After the trial, prompt them with:

“Loved the Candidate Interview Summary? Get full access with the Professional Plan!”

  1. Bundle Premium Pickaxes:

• Highlight the most powerful tools (e.g., Glassdoor Company Auditor or Candidate Interview Summary) as the core value of paid plans.

  1. Team-Specific Features:

• Add functionality like shared pickaxe workflows or analytics to make the agency plan attractive for teams.

Messaging and User Motivation

Your messaging can emphasize the following:

• Time savings: “Spend less time sourcing, more time hiring.”

• Access to AI power: “Gain exclusive access to advanced tools like [Premium Tool] with the Professional Plan.”

• Upsell logic: Frame upgrades as unlocking the recruiter’s full potential with AI.

Do You Need:

• A visual pricing comparison table?

• What examples of tools should be included in each plan
