Pricing Strategy

Hi

New to the community so I’m sure this may have been covered in some form, but IO can’t find the info through search.

I have created a studio and want to make sure I have a clear and fair pricing strategy (tokens and cost). Can anyone provide examples of how they have done this?

Thanks
Kevin

This is a wonderful question. There’s no objectively right answer. Different users have different strategies. Some people charge $5, others charge $150. It all depends on your market and use case.

Charging enough to cover your underlying AI costs, however, is rather simple. It’s quite hard to lose money on the underlying AI costs unless you’re doing something quite unusual. The newest models like GPT-4o are quite inexpensive.

You might find this video helpful which breaks down how to think about pricing.

@admin_mike which are the best practices you guys observe in Pickaxe?
How many credits per dollar? Which Pricing Strategies work best?

We don’t have an exactly analogous system.

Gold users pay ~$30/month and get 1000 credits. That works out 1 credit per $0.03. Or a 33 credits per $1. However, Gold users aren’t just paying for credits to use on third-party tools, they’re paying for a suite functionality for building and deploying their own AI tools.

Thanks Mike, but I meant on the studios
