I’d like to suggest that a new category be added to this Community forum for the specific purpose of carrying announcements from the Pickaxe team regarding new features, system outages, upcoming changes, etc. It could be called something like “Pickaxe Updates”.
This could really help showcase the ongoing improvements and give us a greater appreciation for the work involved in maintaining and growing this platform. I think it would also be well-received by Pickaxe users who are not always aware of updates that may benefit them, or of system changes that might require some action on their part.
Two examples:
– Until I happened upon a post from another user, I wasn’t aware that “Your Pickaxes”, supporting the chaining feature, has been added to the Action page. Nice addition, and I’m eager to try it.
– In the past week, some significant changes were made to how the Pickaxe platform handles chunking. For several days, the new chunking process unintentionally produced tiny chunks that were only about 30 words in length. I understand this has now been reset to a length similar to that used in the old process – something around 200-300 words, a chunk size that tends to produce better responses. If users uploaded new documents when the small chunks were produced and haven’t re-uploaded them since, it’s possible that responses will be degraded. A simple announcement from the team would help in situations like that.

I’ve asked for this previously—even the most basic changelog would be useful/helpful, so we know when PA behaviour may change or needs to be checked, and when new features are available.
