Has anyone drafted a good Terms of use for your chatbot that you make available on the website? A lot of corporate users are asking for something to run through compliance before they use the chatbot
I’m working through this now for my own business – trying get the TOUs just right so as to protect myself but also not scare away clients I have business customers as well, everything from independent consultants to middle market companies, to Fortune 500 clients. Did you end up having any luck?

They are heavily in my favor currently and I may refine them to be more balanced. Since I use OpenAI LLMs exclusively in my tools, I referenced back to OpenAI’s terms as well.

- Try to access parts of the Service, user accounts, or connected systems without authorization.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or discover the underlying technology or AI models.
- Scrape or systematically extract data or Output (defined below) from the Service.
- Develop services that compete directly with the Service using its Output or features.
- Represent AI-generated Output as created solely by a human.
- Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights.
4. Data Privacy Your privacy matters. While we take reasonable steps to protect data, we cannot guarantee absolute security online. You are responsible for the information you choose to input.
5. Intellectual Property

6. Understanding the Service’s Limitations (Disclaimer of Warranties) We provide the Service “as is” and “as available.” This means we don’t make promises or warranties about it, whether express or implied (like warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose).
Specifically, please understand that: (a) The Service might experience interruptions or errors; we don’t guarantee it will always be timely, secure, or perfect. (b) AI technology is constantly evolving and probabilistic. The Output generated may contain inaccuracies or omissions and may not be suitable for every purpose. We don’t guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the Output. Please independently review and verify any Output before relying on it, especially for important matters. (c) We don’t guarantee that we will correct any errors in the Service.
7. Service Availability and Changes We aim for reliable service, but availability isn’t guaranteed and may change.
- Temporary interruptions can occur due to maintenance, updates, technical reasons, or legal needs.
- We’re always working to improve the Service. This means we may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service (features, access, plans), sometimes without prior notice, as the platform evolves.
- We aren’t obligated to provide any specific feature or content and may adjust offerings at our discretion.
8. Using Your Company Name (Optional) If you have a paid account for an Organization, you grant us permission to list your Organization’s name and logo in our marketing materials (like customer lists on our website). This doesn’t allow us to share your confidential information. You can easily opt-out anytime by contacting us.
9. Fees and Refunds Some features may require payment. Please note that all payments are final and non-refundable. We don’t offer refunds or credits, regardless of your usage or satisfaction level. We encourage you to contact us with any questions before making a purchase.
10. Third-Party Services (e.g., OpenAI, Pickaxe) The Service incorporates technology from third parties like OpenAI and Pickaxe. Your use of our Service means you also agree to comply with their relevant terms and policies, which you should review:

Continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept the new Terms.
14. Governing Law and Disputes These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any legal disputes related to these Terms or the Service must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Denver, Colorado. You agree to the jurisdiction of those courts.
