The message you submitted was too long. Please submit something under 90 tokens

I shared the new Pickaxe I’m developping with one of my studnets, and she kept encountering an error message: “The message you submitted was too long. Please submit something under 90 tokens.” What does this mean, and how can I either increase what I assume is a character limit per prompt, OR display that they are reaching the character limit BEFORE the send in the prompt?

Hi Olivia!
To answer your question, you can increase your token input limit by going into advanced options in the builder and increasing the slider to what you feel is necessary.

Hope this helps!

Hi Olivia. Each tool has a limit set on the length of messages that end-users can enter. The default is set to 90 tokens (though we just changed that in the last few days to 500).

So basically, if an end-user tries to enter a message that is over 90 tokens long, they’ll get a little error message asking them to shorten it.

As someone else mentioned, you can change this in the Advanced Settings section of the builder under Maximum Input Length
