I do not see a recent post on this that answers my question. I want to sell a series of custom Pickaxes to a variety of businesses. However I do not want them to use my Api credits or key? How do I do so with Pickaxe? And is there an ability for them not to be able to see the prompts that went into creating the Pickaxes themselves?
Do you want to give them access to the backend? If so, you can transfer a pickaxe to another user, however, they would see prompts and all.
Is seeing the backend the only option? If I transfer - would they open up their own Pickaxe and have the studio in their account and use their own api’s?
Oh and assume I can do this as many times as I like by cloning my main studio?
Yes it is, and also, yes you could clone and transfer. The only other alternate i can think of, is just managing it for your clients.
Thanks! Not my main business so do not want to manage or control api usage. I would rather sell and transfer to their own pickaxe. Thanks for your help!
Hi @p2l,
Thanks for the thoughtful question! I do see @Beckett has already provided valuable suggestions. You’ve got two clean options:
-
Transfer ownership: Clone each Pickaxe in your Studio, then transfer each one to your client’s Pickaxe account. Once transferred, they’ll connect their own API keys/credits and manage usage/costs on their side.
Note: transfer gives them full backend access, including prompts and settings. -
Managed service: Maintain ownership and operate the Pickaxes on your account, but this means your API credits will be utilised, and you will be responsible for usage and maintenance.
Given you don’t want to manage API usage, cloning and transferring to each client is the best fit. You can repeat this as many times as needed for different clients.
I hope this answers the question.
