Zapier vs Make vs ActivePieces

Hi all, I’m diving in to learn more about and utilize tools such as Zapier, Make, and ActivePieces. For those who happen to have experience using more than one of these tools, can you share your thoughts about advantages and disadvantages of each?

Thanks in advance for anyone willing to share!

I have used AP alot and Make just a littleand these are my thoughts;

Zapier: Expensive, but lots of integrations, Leaders.

Make: also lots of integrations, beautiful UI, more intuitive than AP, easy to work with. My favorite.

Activepieces: New kid on the block, not many integrations, last week they re-did their UI and its alot easier to work with than before. Self hosting option. Works well.

Zapier has the most 3rd party tools you can connect to but highest price.
Make had less 3rd party tools, is a bit more advanced but has a lower price than Zapier.
ActivePieces has less than 500 3rd party tools you can connect to but the best pricing of all 3.

Hi @daveops, I was in your position a couple of years ago and I decided to go with Make because it seemed to me more professional. I’m now Make certified and I love the tool.

Note that with the Make HTTP module you can integrate with any platform. So while Make “only” has 2000 integrations, in reality you have unlimited possibilities.

I believe the error handling functions, parsing, pagination and some of the new features coming out in the next few weeks (like human in the loop and PIIS) make it the tool of choice for robust, secure and professional integrations.

Obvioulsy this is just my opinion.

Also Activepieces and N8N can be self hosted for free if you have the technical capacity for that kind of thing.

Both of these have HTTP modules for infinite connections, just like Make.

If self hosting doesnt interest you, Make is probably the best and most user friendly.
