This would be such a good feature, particularly for those that have accessibility issues. It could be entirely voice both ways, with transcriptions of each message or just one way, when the user is able to dictate answers to the the questions. Is this something you are considering?
I use chatgpt with voice all day. It is a huge drawback for me to not have this function for creating useful tools!
I was hoping for Voice input and realised this is possible natively through iphone os!
OpenAI just opened up the text-to-speech and speech-to-text API/SDK last week so might be easy to integrate with Pickaxe’s curated knowledge in between to get an expert-on-demand speaking to you.
How long do we have to wait for this? @admin_mike
I would be very happy if I could upload audio files.
I agree. I also want to upload audio files into Pickaxe. But right now, we can’t.
Lindsay from Pickaxe said that if we want Pickaxe to add the ability to upload audio files, then we should post a request for the ability to upload files in the “Features Request” section and not in other community sections like General, Action, etc.. I sent her a screenshot of users wanting to upload audio files from posts like this. Then she replied and said: “none of the posts shown are in the “Feature Requests” section, which is where users can upvote potential site changes. It’s really helpful for us to see votes on issues so we have a sense of how to prioritize updates.”
Apparently, they don’t want users to discuss feature requests in other section. So, if we want Pickaxe to add the ability to upload audio files and use audio related actions via models like Reka AI, then we need to upvote existing posts and create more posts in the Features Request section.
If you are expecting to upload an audio file, please vote for it.
It would be really nice if Pickaxe handled audio files. My users have audio files, like MP3 files that they want to use with Pickaxes and multimodal models like Reka AI.
But while we wait, there is a low-tech free solution for iPhone users via the Voice Memos app.
Newer versions of Apple iOS have transcription enabled for free in the voice memos app. For example, a sales team could record audio of their sales meetings using the voice memo app on iPhone. And then use the transcription from that audio file in your AI apps.
Here’s a simple workflow:
-
Use the Voice Memos app in iOS to record audio (e.g. an in-person sales meeting)
-
Copy the auto generated transcript from that meeting’s audio file
-
Paste the transcript into a Pickaxe app
@ordodigital thanks for this temporary solution! I want to pop on and say that this feature is in the works now, so hopefully audio file uploads will be possible in the near future!
