Currently, Pickaxe creators can view which chunks from which KB files were used in each response. It’s a great feature. It would also be great if we had the option of enabling users of our Pickaxes to view the sources of each response. I understand that RAG systems like Pickaxe can be configured to do this by adding metadata to chunks. Ideally this could reveal not only the title of a source file, but also a page number. I’m thinking of an option to display a “Source” button below each response. Clicking on it would reveal info about the KB sources used. And for apps where creators are prepared to allow users to access the actual source files, perhaps users could click on a source on the list and be taken to the actual place in the source document.
This is a great idea. It’s also one of those ideas whose greatness depends on its execution.
Would prefer to see such an implementation explored on a slower timeline to nail the UI presentation than activated with a less than ideal approach.
Hi there! This is a great idea, and it’s actually something we’re currently working on - a “source” feature should be available on the site within the next month!
That’s really great news! It might be useful to document how you envision it working and invite comments.
