I’m experiencing a critical issue with conversation memory in Pickaxes I create. Despite adjusting token settings, the AI loses all context between interactions within the same conversation session. This makes it impossible to maintain a coherent dialogue flow.
Literally, the AI cannot remember the last interaction.
I understand the Gold Plan offers “User Memory,” but that focuses on long-term preferences, not session-based context retention. I do not require long-term memory (Yet! I will soon if I can get this working))—just reliable context within active chats.
This limitation is severely impacting usability:
Client frustration due to broken conversation flow
Lost revenue opportunities as I hesitate to fully switch to Pickaxe
Competitive disadvantage vs. OpenAI, which maintains seamless session memory
Please prioritize fixing this core functionality or advise on an immediate workaround.
I too am experiencing this across all my studios. Its particularly noticeable when utilising actions such as PDF or Word as they have no idea what they are relating to and keep requesting more information!
I think this is a temporary issue as it wasn’t the case yeaterday but there have been changes to the way actions are implemented that were put through in the last 24 hours. Fingers crossed for a speedy fix @stephenasuncion
@digital_beacon worth checking in the backend the knowledge viewer icon to see if its using your memory buffer. Mine definitely isn’t using the memory (when it did prior to today) so cannot remember from one query to the next.
@ecaveo Yeah, I am not getting any related memory to the discussion. Hopefully resolved soon. I have a presentation coming up on Thursday and I was going to highlight Pickaxe.
@1000tradestudios Yeah! I am pretty sure they will sort this out ASAP. The sooner the better because its not a good look for our clients to see the tools we reccoemend working like this.
I’m going to guess they do monitor the board - when up… I think pager duty is probably based around PST so its around 08:10AM… I’m BST so have been wrestling with the lack of working PAs all day (around 12 hours at present)! There are quite a few problems at present - I’ve encountered failing actions, actions that wont call, network errors, and a lack of usable conversation memory meaning that there is no continuity of the user conversation.
Changes were made last night/yesterday to the action code rendering - I know that much but I don’t know if that is whats impacting this… from my perspective its pretty catastrophic for all my Studios.
If needed - I wrote a script to prevent user access to my Studio and instead give them a maintenance page - see here.
Memory seems to be sorted @stephenasuncion but none of my actions complete.. I get the text ‘simmering’ but nothing happens… and eventually I can just start the conversation again without the PA telling me the action has timed out or completes..
typical question would be ‘single session plan for U17W athlete targeting 8:55 for 3000m’ then ask for a word doc (or press the word button).
Its not working.
Also… i tried a simple action I have set up to get the current time… this was the response contains another Pickaxes contents - not one from any of my studios and nothing to do with me… This cross contamination is a real issue:
Thanks Stephen - in the screen shot - other than What time is it and the line ’ Generating…’ everything else is completely random and nothing to do with my studio.
@stephenasuncion further evidence of someone else’s studio contaminating mine… I asked for the audio file for my coaching note (its a 3 min mini podcast on how to use the training session)
This is what I got back: (btw no audio file at all so the previously bullet proof action failed):
This goes from bad to worse… much worse.. @stephenasuncion - I ask for the audio file (that should reference the plan just listed) and I get this (you’ll not this is now my Pickaxe responding to a cross contaminated message that has made its way to my studio via someone’s Risk Register Pickaxe. Additionally - my audio action just doesn’t work, instead it lifts a message from someone else studio and renders that in my chat.
@simonsaysdigital here… it’s highly alarming to be tagged in a public user forum alerting me to me pickaxe content/my user’s content being used in another random user’s pickaxe.
Can someone further clarify what the heck is going on and whether I need to completely delete all of my user data?
I would expect some sort of incident report or breakdown of what happened and who’s affected. This is absolutely unacceptable.
