How can I enable Studio access via Zapier, etc.?

Part 1:
I need to be able to automatically grant access to individual Studio tiers after a client purchases a product/service from an external transaction.

Part 2:
If the client cancels the service or gets a refund, I need to automatically remove them as a Pickaxe tier member.

Do we have the ability to do this via Zaper, Pabbly or some other automation?

  1. We do not currently allow this. If you’re admitting folks to the studio at scale, you can use the payment rails we provide for now.
  2. We handle this for you with our own payment rails, we don’t currently support you doing this outside of our payment rails.

We probably won’t support this type of thing anytime too soon, because we want folks to use our built in payment rails.

Thank you for the prompt response, @nathanielmhld
As a workaround, is it possible to automatically send them an invitation to a tier?

In other words, since we already have the ability to invite people to tiers without using your payment motion, can we have the ability to automatically invite them to a tier via Zapier, etc.?

Not currently. We have the invitation system primarily for folks that are using the studio at a smaller scale. Currently and for the foreseeable future, if you are looking to gate users with payments, or admit users automatically, the only way to do it will be our payment rails.

What are you trying to achieve exactly?

Thank you, @nathanielmhld . It’s a pretty common motion in my industry.

I sell them a consulting product/service on the front-end and need to give them access to the Studio designed for them as an enhancement.

As an example, I have non-techie clients that need my training on a niche that benefit from the awesome simplicity of Pickaxes so that they don’t need to go through all of the steps of creating a GPT account, get lost in prompts, etc. and never come back.

Pickaxes are the missing piece for folks like this. I have almost 200 of them and they are very helpful for these folks. I just need to automate this part because I don’t want to have to watch the inbox for new orders, or hire a VA to invite them. As you can imagine, each of these are big inefficiencies and time-delays for people that are excited to dig into my pickaxes and get busy with my workshops. Both of which prevent scaling of my operation and grinds my time freedom to a halt.

I know a lot of people in my industry that are in the same situation, and all of them would love to be Pickaxe customers.

@nathanielmhld is there any hope for something like this?

It’s a studio designed for them? Or it’s a studio designed for your clients?

If it’s a studio designed for them; how many custom pickaxes are in the studio?

If it’s just one custom Pickaxe and they are getting it as part of your paid services, then can’t you just maintain them as unlisted pickaxes, embed them on your site behind a login and then give them the url to their tool?

And assuming it’s a studio of multiple pickaxes for your clients and not custom made for each individual client, just clone the studio.

Make one all access and invite only and then send them the invite when they pay for your course.

The studio is a collection of PAs made for them.

I provide monthly coaching for them and I need to unlock the Studio for them upon payment for my service so they can get started immediately.

As with most things you pay for, you are most excited at the moment you purchase the thing. The longer you have to wait to have something get manually unlocked, the faster the fire of excitement goes out. Sad but true.

In the marketing industry, one of the most important things is the ability to get started and profitable asap. The competition is too fierce to make people wait for hours/days for someone to get back to their desk to click buttons for a process that could have been automated.

I love the PA system. It’s a missing piece for many people that don’t know about it yet. This automation integration is something that is common in other systems and I hope it’ll be included with PA very soon.

@nathanielmhld

I haven’t created a studio yet, however, I am here because I need a similar solution as @livesmarter. The issue that I see with creating one all access is that the user can share the link with others who have not paid. Plus, if they decide to end service/refund, I have no way to deny them access to the all access studio. In my case, I have tiered pricing and want the various tiers to have special access to studios while remaining in control. However as @nathanielmhld mentioned, it’s not in the plans. That’s a bummer!

Hi @livesmarter,

The only solution at the moment would be the following:

  • Create an invite-only free studio
  • Copy the invitation link
  • Create an automation in Make that sends the client the invitation link upon payment
  • Clients will receive an email with the link and they will be able to sign up (they will still need to provide email and password create an account for the studio).

This would remove the need to do it manually.

As an idea you could also have a voicebot (e.g. VAPI) triggered when they pay that calls them and explain how to log into the Pickaxe studio.

TY @ab2308 That is a great idea and super simple to implement.
The only problem is that the link is not unique and could be passed around (unfortunately common).

Since there isn’t currently a way to have a free invite person upgrade to a paid tier, the workaround would be to nerf the free studio into something that is bare-bones and have them create another account with a paid studio with better tools. This is pretty clunky from a useability standpoint.

Proposal: @nathanielmhld @admin_mike
Can we have a motion where a free-invite studio has a paid tier option?

For example:
The studio can have 5 folders.
The first one is free. It’s where people can get their feet wet and realize how easy it can be to use Pickaxes.

Once they are done with the Pickaxes in the free folder, they would move to the PAs in the paid section and be prompted to upgrade.

This would solve pretty much everything.
I’m probably speaking out of ignorance, but since you already have a similar upgrade motion for the paid tiers, would you be able to implement this for Free → Paid inside a single studio?

If you can, I’d think that would work on several levels. It’d make the roll-out much faster and in less steps.

Would this work?

Currently you can create an invite-only studio with a free tier and paid tiers. But maybe I am missing something. Are you not to configure this setup currently?
