Media Library / File Hosting - Primarily for pages, graphics

Summary: Give us a proper media library inside Pickaxe—a home for images, files, and assets that currently live scattered across the internet. Make it simple, reliable, and integrated. Think of it as a digital attic where everything has its place.

The Problem: Right now, every image, PDF, or file we want to use has to live somewhere else first. External hosting, third-party services, fragile links that break when you need them most. It’s like trying to build a house while keeping all your tools in different neighbors’ garages.

For creators building with Pickaxe, this means:

  • Juggling multiple services just to show one image

  • Watching demos break when external links expire

  • Explaining to clients why their branded assets disappeared

  • The quiet dread of dependency on services we don’t control

We’re not asking for the moon. Just a place to put our stuff.

Requested Features:

  1. Basic Media Storage:

    • Upload images (PNG, JPG, GIF, SVG)

    • Store documents (PDF, HTML, maybe common formats)

    • Generate permanent, reliable URLs

    • Simple drag-and-drop interface (because life’s too short)

  2. Organization That Makes Sense:

    • Folders or tags—dealer’s choice

    • Search by filename or type

    • Thumbnail previews (squinting at filenames is no way to live)

    • Usage tracking: which Pickaxes use which assets

  3. Integration Where It Counts:

    • Direct insertion into prompts and knowledge files

    • Simple URL copying for external use

    • Maybe—just maybe—a basic image editor for crops and resizes

    • Bulk upload for those “I need to move 50 files” moments

  4. Pro Tier Perks:

    • Generous storage limits (think gigabytes, not megabytes)

    • CDN delivery for speed

    • Custom subdomains (your-brand.pickaxe.media)

    • Archive/backup options

Why This Matters: Every broken image link is a tiny betrayal of trust. Every time we scramble to find new hosting, we’re not building better AI experiences. This isn’t about fancy features—it’s about removing friction from the creative process. Let us focus on what we’re actually trying to build, not where to stash the pieces.

Final Thought: Sometimes the most profound improvements are the quiet ones. A media library won’t make headlines, but it’ll make hundreds of creators exhale with relief. We don’t need to host elsewhere when home could be right here. Give us a place to put down roots—pixels and all.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this detailed feedback. Your vision for a built-in media library is clear, and it highlights a real challenge for creators. This is a great feature request, and we appreciate you outlining both the problems and possible solutions. I’ll make sure your suggestions are shared with our team. If you have any other ideas or thoughts, please keep them coming!

Yes, i do think file management could be made easier. I know you had mentioned broken links, but have you tried an MCP connected to Notion or something similar? I have found them to be more reliable.
