OpenAi my own key = limits?

I’ve set my own apikey from openai. added credit, all good. But the o1mini model is not available on my key and don’t understand why. Do you know why? Because if i use the pickaxe credits it works great.
Also when using 4o-mini, with my apikey, this message comes up:
Failed to get response data { “error”: { “message”: “Rate limit reached for gpt-4o-mini in organization org-CReXCUehKo2ArHcEre6LmT0m on requests per min (RPM): Limit 3, Used 3, Requested 1. Please try again in 20s. Visit https://platform.openai.com/account/rate-limits to learn more. You can increase your rate limit by adding a payment method to your account at https://platform.openai.com/account/billing.”, “type”: “requests”, “param”: null, “code”: “rate_limit_exceeded” } }

I’m ready to launch, but this came up… Please help. Thanks

OpenAI restricts the usage of their best and most expensive models. They have a trust system where accounts that have a proven billing history get access to the best models. They don’t want brand new accounts signing up, racking up big bills, then disappearing without paying.

If you have a brand new OpenAI API account you might run into these issues when trying to access the latest models. But if you have a like $25 of billing history it should be fine.

For example, here’s the rate limits on the o1 model.
