Hello, All
Newbie’s here.
When building a prompt for your knowledge base from your uploaded content, what are some of the best practices when creating the prompt? A few questions about the PDF formatting, the pdf I’ve loaded has pictures does the up format for those? I’m looking to maybe incorporating - picture recognition, - e commerce- maybe some other ideas, into my studio. I’m not sure if these things are feasible yet.
Also, on the knowledge base do spreadsheets recognize columns?
Thanks for the info folks
I’ll probably have more questions thanks
For whatever reason, I’ve found that its ability to understand PDFs is pretty robust, I’ve not had anywhere near the same success using spreadsheets for the knowledge base.
In fact I’ve occasionally extracted entire spreadsheets into pdf explainer docs and had it fair better at navigating that.
Not sure why though.

HeyJake! Here are some tips.
Does the Knowledge Base recognize spreadsheet columns?
The KB handles spreadsheets in a very special way. It turns each row into a json object with the column headers as properties. Here is a forum post that explains in more detail how the KB handles csvs. And here is a youtube video that walks through making a chatbot on top of a spreadsheet.
Best Practices
As far as best practices, it depends on the use case and how you want to draw from the knowledge base. Here is a video that explains best practices for building an FAQ bot on top of a company knowledge base for example.
