Pickaxe helped my team win a hackathon

Hi all - I want to share a huge personal win here with those of you in the Pickaxe community.

I’ve been using Pickaxe for a number of months now, personally, and been trying to get an AI consulting agency off the ground. Two friends of mine and I travelled to Estonia this week for a Hackathon, to build a prototype of a solution to a specific brief that links Tallinn and Valencia, Spain (too complicated a topic perhaps to go into now!)

In the space of 48hrs I built 4 AI agents in Pickaxe that solved 4 pillars of a problem that remote workers and expats have when trying to deal with the bureaucracy of moving to Valencia. We’re also building an app to house the agents, but when that didn’t get completed in time, we fell back to demoing the agents on their own in the Pickaxe Studio in our pitch sessions.

Yesterday and today we were back to back in pitch and build sessions, constantly iterating, taking on new ideas, refining prompts, building out the knowledge base, choosing the right LLM model to best represent the content etc.

Out of 14 teams, we made it to the final 3, and eventually placed second. Here’s us, demoing the agents on the live stream of the event tonight, and then after the judges decision with a cheque for 15k EUR to help us take our project through to fruition in Valencia in October (I’m the one with the beard).

Thanks Pickaxe team, for this supremely useful tool, and thanks to those of you in the community who have helped shared knowledge so freely on this forum. It’s 2am where I am now, and I’m going to get some much needed sleep.

Cheers

Cool! Congratulations.

Pickaxe is so convenient, that it’s easy to forget the complexity that the platform has obfuscated away so that we can just focus on the applications and the impact.
