GPT-5 Now on Pickaxe! 🔥

Pickaxe now has full support for GPT-5 (and associated models). :fire::pick: We’re already started to see new and more complex applications being built with these new models, and I’m sure there are a lot more to come.

Happy prompting!

My org is verified on OpenAI but when I try to run my Pickaxe on 5 in the model picker I get an error message that I need to be verified. Any idea when this issue will resolve? Model 4o performance went down today when 5 came out, so I need to be able to run on 5.

It works on our keys! You may not be able to use it with your own keys, OpenAI makes a lot of strange choices on who to allow to use the models. It’s up to their discretion, and they don’t always make the limitations public.

In theory, then, should this run on Pickaxe tokens? Because I’m still getting the same error message when I try that.

I’m not getting an error when using Pickaxe tokens on Pickaxe. It should work with Pickaxe tokens! Please send an email to support with screenshots if you’re running into trouble. I just checked again. It could also have to do with your region potentially. This is all very new, it just came out today after all.

Okay, thanks. I’ll contact support.

Excellent.

When can we expect Claude 4.1 to be made available?

Provider Error: Your organization must be verified to use the model `gpt-5`. Please go to: https://platform.openai.com/settings/organization/general and click on Verify Organization. If you just verified, it can take up to 15 minutes for access to propagate.

New error

I’ve been getting the error in about 1 in 4 of my messages. I was getting a similar error when using o3 a few weeks back. I appreciate the fast update to gpt5, though - good work.

I also don’t like that like Gemini 2.5, it doesn’t accept images as input, as some of my tools can’t use 5 for that reason

let’s gooo  excited for the upgrade - @nathaniel update us when the org has been verified

We have just asked our engineers to add Claude 4.1, so you can expect it very soon

This model works fine for us… it only won’t work on most of your custom keys for the time being! Hope that helps! As long as you’re using our credits, should work! Though there do seem to be some issues connected to rate limits, so we wouldn’t advise putting this into production. Doesn’t seem like OpenAI is ready!

Still the same 2 errors, randomly appearing errors, sometimes, very rarely works as intended, most of the time errors. Using pickaxe credits.

@riskacademy
You have two OpenAI keys enabled for your Pickaxe studio. Please make sure you’re using Pickaxe credits for the most consistent experience. You can do this by disabling API keys in your Studio settings:
Studio → Settings → scroll down to Model API Keys. Disable external key so that the model uses Pickaxe keys for GPT5.

From my personal observation, some errors may also be related to rate limits, as OpenAI is currently experimenting with the number of conversations it allows end users to have on GPT-5.

Gonna give it a few weeks, whenever I’ve tried it so far GPT-5 is not following the prompt instructions as well as 4o

@stephenbdiaz @riskacademy every time OpenAI releases a new model, their servers can’t handle the load properly for the 1st couple of weeks. They build up more hype than their servers can handle in terms of inference.
