Knowledgebase / knowledge chunks

Hoping someone can help…

I need to reduce the size of my knowledgebase as my bot is taking way to long between replies to be useable.

When exploring knowledge chunks, what is the purpose and effect of this? If I edit a knowledge chunk how does this affect the way the knowledge chunk and wider KB is stored or accessed? Does it have any effect? If for example I delete a chunk, will that chunk then be removed from the original document? What if I edit it? What effect does this have on retrieval and storage in the KB? If I have answers to this question then perhaps I can make the KB more efficient in this way?

I find it frustrating that there’s not more comprehensive documentation on Pickaxe(especially given support is soooo slow and sporadic… despite being ‘Pro’ tier).

Did you try playing with Knowledge Settings? Decreasing the Amount of information pulled per query may help.

Thanks for the reply teoman, yeah I did that.

I’m thinking my best course of action may be to clean up my chunks?

If I edit my knowledgebase chunks i see a lot of my existing chunks contain information which isn’t very useful, I can edit them directly and delete the ones that are less useful/interesting/important… I’m guessing this will a) improve the quality of my KB b) reduce it’s size?

I’m just not sure what implications this will have or if there’s any point as I don’t know how these chunks are really dealt with and how they hang together…
