I would like to ask advice and assistance on setting tiers for subscriptions including but not limited to price points.
If someone starts at a free tier can we make them give their details and if during a session they go from free to paid
will the bot remember the conversation, will the chat continue?
If they start with one paid tier but run out of credits if they upgrade to a higher tier will the bot remember and the conversation continue.
Is it better to give them a free tier but have to put in their card OR start a tier at .99cent or better to let them have a free tier no card.

Hey Nancy. For any tier you creates (aside from guest) the user has to sign up with an email. And yes, when users upgrade they can resume the same conversation.

Hi Mike,
This isn’t quite the experience I’m having—though I’d love it to be, because I’m really enjoying the tool overall.
Let me explain what I’m seeing from a user perspective:
- I’m using an inline flex embed on my site with a usage limit of 3. Once the user hits this limit, they’re routed into the “usage limit” funnel, which triggers the pickaxe flow.
- However, instead of being directed straight to the upgrade screen, the user is sent to the studio home page.
- From there, they’re prompted to input data into a blank chat (with no continuity from the original conversation), only to be told again they need to upgrade.
- They’re then taken to the upgrade screen. (if I change to a custom URL to be triggered from usage limit it does go to the upgrade screen directly, but the experience is the same from point 5 onwards)
- After upgrading and registering, they’re redirected to a blank chat—because their email hasn’t yet been verified. The only indication that verification is needed is a small notification near the profile link, which isn’t immediately obvious.
- Even after verifying the email, the original chat doesn’t resume—so the experience feels broken and disjointed.
In short, the journey isn’t very fluid. Ideally, the user would be taken directly from the embedded chat to the upgrade screen, register, and then resume the conversation within the studio—chat history intact. If email verification is required, this should be made very clear, to avoid user confusion and potential drop-off.
It’s very possible I’ve set something up incorrectly, so I’d really appreciate any guidance you can share!
