We may add a toggle for this. The reason it does not automatically open into a chat is because some users do not want to open up their responses into an open-ended experience. They want to fence in the experience to one with more rails.
The way it works now is perfect as you mentioned it is great to keep users fenced to keep the flow and get to an end goal, this simple fencing is what made me like pickaxe right of the bat, yes put the toggle in if users need it, but keep the default as is. I have created and tested 100’s of GPTs and one of the biggest problem was and is forcing the prompt to keep users on track.
No, not yet. When we do this, it will make ‘go-to chat’ a much more prominent feature of the Smart Forms. Which means we’ll have to re-design the Form Builder to also be a chatbot builder because users will need to make conversational settings. That’s a relatively large undertaking that we’ll probably fold into our upcoming redesign that will combine the builder & control panel.
Maybe add an option in the design to choose if it goes on with a chat conversation or not. I did a contract assistant, and after uploading a contract, they got a summary (which lately stopped working). But then users should be able to ask for details, so I also vote for the chat.
I’ve tried doing this, and it seems that when I click on the button to turn it into a chat, it loses the reference back to the prompt.
For example, I have a sales page copywriter and I tested using the form to ask questions about the different aspects of the offer.
It then writes a sales page based on the framework I’ve provided.
However, when I go into the chat to ask for refinements, it’s disconnected from what we’ve just done, and just shares the framework or goes off on some other tangent.
Is it possible to make this work right now with refinement to the prompt? Or it is outside the scope of how the forms work?
When a document is loaded and submitted, the system acts as if it is not loaded, so it does not process the prompt for summary. The user must then get into the chat window and ask to write a summary. The bot responds with a summary.
In short, the bots do not recognise when a document is uploaded. They recognise it when questioned.
